When I go through the facts, only about 1/4 to 1/3 of them get through. Sometimes more, sometimes less. While before the new site, I just checked the facts for spelling/grammar/repeats/spam, I now check the quality of the facts.
Judging by some of the facts I get, half of the people who submit them are the same 12 year-olds you would find in chatrooms. They are that low in quality.
Also, 90% of all facts including the phrase "roundhouse kick" get rejected, because it just isn't funny anymore. Those facts have become so cliched that I die a little inside every time I have to judge one. I really don't want to, but I might just have to put a filter on fact submissions on facts including the phrase because there are so many of them and they are all so low quality. The same goes to facts in this format: "Chuck Norris doesn't X, X does Chuck Norris." I don't care what you think, they are not funny. The first couple of times they were, but not anymore.
Also, I'm begining to start suspending people for sending repeat facts. In one rare case, I banned somebody for submitting the fact, "Chuck Norris' tears cure cancer. Too bad he has never cried." There is no way that the user has not seen that fact. So before you submit a fact, think really hard; did you come up with it yourself, or did you hear it elsewhere? If it is the latter, don't submit it.
One last thing: I would like it if users wait for the facts they have already submitted to be confirmed before submitting more. I would also like it if you limit the number of facts you have waiting to be judged around half a dozen or so. There are over 6000 Chuck Norris facts alone waiting to be judged, and I would like to get that down to 1000 in a week or two.
One more last thing: This is a random generator. Remember that.
